HAWC Building Campaign

On December 1, 2009 HAWC announced that we purchased a house for our emergencey shelter for victims of domestic violence. We had to vacate our former shelter due to disrepair and over-use, and our clients are currently in temporary space. We hope to renovate the new house with all fire, safety, and ADA requirements so that clients can move in by fall 2010.

We have made an appeal to individuals and corporations on the North Shore to help us with this fundraising challenge by considering a Cornerstone Pledge: $1,500/year for three years. With this grassroots community-wide effort, we will cover the costs of renovations and will look to foundations for the additional money to cover the purchase of the building and program expansion.
